Audition 2013 Questions Guidelines

Preparing questions for the audition 2013 interview 

The audition will be conducted based on the ability and skills of the participants in answering questions from two categories, namely 1. Cultural Tourism and 2. Wildlife & Nature Conservation.  Here are some guidelines on how we prepare the questions.  This should give you some good clues on how to develop your knowledge and skills.

1. Promote opinion/ expression based on basic and general understanding of the subject matter.

2. Avoid memory based answers or memory inducing questions

3. Focus on the participants’ way of developing their thoughts and arranging their ideas into comprehensible answers.

4. Look for creativity & how they relate their answers to their surroundings, themselves or people around them.

5. Build questions which make them explore their local scenes; questions which makes them look back to their origins/roots

6. Questions can be more than 1 stage, i.e.
   Stage 1. Test their understanding of the concept
   Stage 2. Test their ability to relate/apply the concept to their own situation.

7. The objective of the question is to enable the organizer identify participants with substantial critical thinking skills. 

Critical Thinking Definition : "the intellectually disciplined process of actively and skilfully conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing and/or evaluating information gathered from, or generalized by, observation, experience, reflection, reasoning or communication, as a guide to belief or action [or argument]" (Scriven & Paul ,2001, p.1).

 Penyediaan soalan untuk sesi ujibakat 

1. Menggalakkan pendapat/ ekspresi diri berdasarkan kefahaman asas dan menyeluruh tentang perkara pokok/konsep.

2. Elakkan soalan yang menjurus kepada jawapan berbentuk penghafalan

3. Beri tumpuan kepada cara peserta membina pandangan mereka dan cara mereka menyusun sudut pandangan untuk membentuk jawapan yang mudah difahami.

4. Beri perhatian kepada kreativiti dan cara mereka mengaitkan kembali jawapan mereka dengan keadaan sekeliling, diri mereka atau orang di sekeliling mereka.

5. Bina soalan yang mendorong perserta menyelami senario setempat; mendalami asal usul mereka. 

6. Soalan boleh melebihi satu tahap, i.e.
   Tahap 1. Menguji kefahaman tentang konsep.
   Tahap 2. Menguji kebolehan untuk mengaitkan/mengaplikasi konsep dalam situasi peribadi/harian mereka. 

7. Objektif soalan ialah supaya penganjur dapat mengenalpasti peserta yang memiliki bakat pemikiran kritis yang ketara.

 Definisi pemikiran kritis: “proses berdisiplin intelektual yang secara aktif dan mahir merangka konsep, mengaplikasi, menganalisa, menjana dan/atau mempertimbangkan maklumat yang terkumpul dari, atau dirumus dengan, pemerhatian, pengalaman, refleksi, pertimbangan atau perhubungan, sebagai panduan kepada kepercayaan atau tindakan [atau pertikaian]” (Scriven & Paul, 2001, p.1).
